Top 10 Rental Buildings in Downtown Brooklyn
Over the past decade, Downtown Brooklyn has truly emerged as a distinct business hub. Since the 2004 rezoning of the neighborhood, more than two-dozen new residential projects have risen on every corner, many of which offer lavish amenity packages, picturesque skyline views and, of course, convenient transit access to Manhattan and beyond.
#1 - 300 Ashland Place
The postwar high-rise at 300 Ashland Place, in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn, has 32-stories, 379 rental apartments and a geometrically ‘cut’ aluminum facade. The red-tinged 51-story tower became the tallest building in Brooklyn since its completion in 2009; it was the first building to eclipse One Hanson Place in size (with a 2-foot advantage). Located at 111 Lawrence Street, it holds 491 apartments, a health center, valet parking, a roof deck, a residents’ lounge, a backyard with cooking grills and a fire pit. The 25-story residential condominium, nicknamed the Be@Schermerhorn, is located at 189 Schermerhorn Street, between Smith and Hoyt streets.
